Whats In Your Closet?
Therefore let us leave the elementary teaching of Christ and go on to perfection (maturity)
Hebrews 6:1
Beautiful One, For The Time You Have Been Here, How Much Have You Really Changed?
There is no greater time of excitement and expectancy in our lives than when our hearts and minds begin to align themselves with the very heart of God. When we come to the realization that His plans for us are GOOD, to give us a future full of hope, a sense of destiny and purpose is birthed within us and thus begins the dream.
But believing, aligning and embracing the plans He has for us, is just the beginning -this step is actually the beginning of many more to come.
You see, when God starts with us, His plan is to completely bring us full circle around. The woman you see today, will not be the same woman when He is finished with you.
I don't know if you have ever realized this because it took me a long time before I did, but when God reveals His mind towards us and we embrace that understanding, He then begins the arduous and often painful process of seperating us from who we used to be.
We start out joyful; full of love and zeal only to find that there is conflict and much opposition. It's as if the old clothes you have worn and had in your closet for years don't fit anymore, now they're uncomfortable and you are all too aware of it.
Beautiful One that's how our Christian walk can be, when God begins to wean us away from who we used to be and we begin to shed those old filthy garments for brand new ones we begin to experience frustration and uncertainty.
There are times when we are very cooperative with Him and are glad to shed those clothes, BUT then, there are times when He calls for a very specific garment and we find that we're not only unwilling but even resentful about giving it up.
Sometimes He cleans out our closet without even asking us AND at other times He demands that WE get in there and throw off those dead rudiments of the world.
This process of leaving the elementary teaching of Christ and going on to perfection does not happen over night. To go on to perfection doesnt mean being perfect, it actually means to GROW UP.
God told Abraham; " Get thou before me and be perfected" He wasn't saying "Abraham be perfect," He was saying; "get out here in front of me My son and grow up," begin to mature in my presence because I Have Things For You To Do, People I Need You To Meet And Places I Want You To Go!
Beautiful One, we have His presence, we are His kids, Jesus is our Lord, these are the elementary truths that we recieved when we first believed. Now that they are settled, we must move on. We must now get out in front of Him and GROW up! There will be trials and tears along our way, - but the trials, the conflict, the maturing process is meant to define us not destroy us.
It is vital to remember that going from the old woman into the new one is a process, there is alot of seperation and anxiety involved. To say that being a Christian is problemfree is a falsehood, there is conflict. In fact, the closer we draw to the Lord, the bigger the conflict.
Think about it, we can forgive a stranger on the street but let a family member betray us and see if there is no conflict, or what about having to keep our mouth shut when we are so accustomed to letting it run off, or what about when your best friend has turned on you and wounded your heart so badly?
As we walk with God sometimes our marriages don't get better, sometimes our children fall off the deep end and rebellion rises up, or the job you loved is now in the form of a pink slip. Maybe your spouse has betrayed you and you don't know how everything could be falling apart. All you want to do is serve the Lord and live the good life everyone seems to have but your reality isnt lining up with your dream-or is it?
Sometimes we get distracted from the fact that God knows the end from the beginning and He knew it before you ever knew him, He has made all the plans, we think we have taken a wrong turn somewhere and we are so far off, but we forget that He has made provisions for every step we have taken and He is able to recalculate the route to bring us to our expected end.
Beautiful One, going on to perfection means that as Women of God, who are precious and dearly loved, we will encounter trails and hardships, but through those trials, we will grow stronger, our old clothes will be shed and even though we might not see a closet full of brand new clothes just yet, HOLD ON because while we are shedding the past and all those tight hinderances, God is sewing and ordering the finest and the best wardrobe that you will never have to part with again.
Remember that everytime God calls for something you have been wearing, know that He always will replace it with something better!
His Greatness for your life is so BIG and Full, that your closet wont be able to contain it!
Beautiful One, Just Believe, And Go On To Perfection....

That was so beautiful! I have been dealing with letting go of old friends that I love but just can't hang out with anymore and this put everything into perspective so perfectly. Thank you.
