A Word To The Wise.....

Silent_sufferers_2

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away (depart) from evil.
Proverbs 3:7

Beautiful One, How Wise Are You?

It is an amazing thing that God has given us our minds, God himself is a thinker- He plans, He ponders and  He desires for us to use our minds as well- to stretch and grow them. Our minds have the amazing ability to; learn, reason, analyze, ponder, remember, memorize, and to fantasize- to dream.

The Bible says that'to have Wisdom is more precious than silver or gold," or in our latter day language, "dollars and diamonds." As humans, it is within our nature to desire wisdomto some degree we all think "we are wise". The Bible  tells us that "every way to a mans heart seems right but it is the purpose of the Lord that prevails."

So,  what happens when what we know is wrong? What happens when we think we are right or righter than most? How do you know if the wisdom you really have is Godly wisdom from above, or earthly, sensual, and selfish wisdom from the world?

God has given us the answer. Proverbs 3:7 says;
"Do not Be wise in YOUR own eyes; FEAR THE LORD and DEPART FROM EVIL."

Wisdom_4If we are told to not be wise in our own  eyes and to fear the Lord and depart from evil, then we basically could judge the measure of our wisdom based upon how much we are departing from the evil things of this world. To fear the Lord is to depart from evil!

How many times have you tried to do something or be with someone and it just didn't work for you anymore, there was tension, you didn't feel the same way, there is an uneasy feeling you can't seem to shake? This is actually a good thing, it's called (departing) but sometimes we dont see it that way  and because we are creatures that constantly seek comfort, we tend to resist Gods way because none of us wants to  feel displaced, vulnerable, and alone.

The departing is part of the plan, the very fact that you have conflict is a sign that you are a child of the King, there is conviction  where you never had it before, you may not do and think all the right things but when you notice the conflict -know that it is a sign that God is at work- willing you to do His good pleasure.

It is not hard  to realize that we tend to gravitate to the negative things in life, it takes no effort at all to complain or murmer-no effort to give into what our flesh wants and drown out what God says.  That is where grace comes in, for we do the things we don't want to do, and the very things we want to do for God we don't  do because we have not trained ourselves to be self controlled and alert and we have not disciplined ourselves to resist certain temptations of this world.

Sometimes we wait on God to deliver us, all the while He is waiting on us to just be a disciplined disciple.....

God is no respector of persons, BUT He is a respector of Faith and Obedience! So often we get distracted by the issues of life and we take our eyes off of the Lord and onto ourselves. We forget that whatever we think about the most becomes magnified in our lives.  The more we think on the things of God -practicing and rehearsing them in our minds the more they will manifest in our lives, and the more God will reign in and through us. Likewise, the more we focus on ourselves, our shortcomings, our issues, the more we meditate on what we can't do or who hurt us, the more we serve the false god of SELF.

To fear God and depart from evil is to practice Gods way of handling life. Keeping our mouths shut at times, giving a kind answer that will turn away wrath, repaying kindness to our enemies, being integrious in our commitments, letting our word actually mean something in life- not joining in with crowd because it feels good, departing from evil is knowing that maybe no one else will know or see you but your Father will and you dont want to hurt HIS HEART.

Beautiful One, we need to remember that although trials and temptations will come, although our hearts can be led astray at times, God will lift us up out of the pits of life. For He is the Glory and lifter of our heads and we need to be careful to be mindful to not allow the evil things of this world to taint and overcome us or they will overthrow us.

James 3:17 tells us that (Wisdom) from above is first of all pure, then peace-loving, gentle, willing to yield, full of compassion and good deeds, and without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy

To understand wisdom from Gods perspective is to first use our minds to think in a pure manner. Can you think to a time when you- yourself said or did something and you knew you were not being sincere in what you were saying or doing? If we are really honest with ourselves- we all can admit to times when we haven't been pure, we all have moments, days or even periods of time that we need a re-adjusting in our thinking. We must remember that 'as a man thinks in his heart-so is he.

Let's be real for a moment, when people hurt your feelings, when a relationship is lacking and there is minimal respect going on, when we are angered at injustice or when we aren't riding high on the cloud of faith-it can be hard at times to be selfless and to esteem others better than ourselves-it can be hard at times to be filled with compassion for someone who has  wounded you, it can be a difficult thing to judge without  impartiality or hypocrisy- it may be hard and  difficult- but It Is Possible!

Beautiful One, none of us is promised an easy, comfortable life that is conflict or problem free. The closer you draw near to the Lord, the more you become painfully aware of just how evil things might be attached to you in some way. Its so easy to label evil-but is gossipping, complaining, murmuring,  slander, lust, lying, unbelief, stubborness and unforgiveness on your list of labels?

It takes a lot of courage to face ourselves in the mirror of Gods Word and admit we are lacking - it takes alot of fortitude and tenacity to shake off the temptations to dice into someone behind their back,  it takes a teachable heart that can admit "I  haven't arrived and in order for  for change to come, I need to be the one who changes",  it takes humility to forgive a wrong and to bless someone who has hurt you- in short it takes a mind that is aligned to the heart of God that refuses to be overthrown and drawn away by their our own evil desires..

It takes a pure heart that says-you meant it for evil evil But My God Will Use It For Good....

My friend-that is wisdom from above......

Beautiful One, Just Believe, And Be Wise In God's Eyes.....
