Children Give Thanks For Homeschooling

Joyful HS copy

Framed bunny animals Happy Thanksgiving Let's hear from the children of homeschooling parents!  Are they thankful for your sacrifice and hard work?  Do they appreciate your dedication?  You might be surprised at what they have to say.  I may not have a quote from your child, but I'll betcha they feel the same way...thankful that you invest in them!

And now let's hear from the children. "I'm thankful my mom homeschools me because..."

"...we learn more and it helps our walk with the Lord."  --Phoebe, 13

"...my mom is a great teacher, we get to do more things, and we actually learn things." --Sydney, 13

"...it gives me the opportunity to learn a lot more than most public school students and we get to sleep in later!"  --Kevin, 16.

"...I get to sleep in late!  But, seriously, because it allows me to have a flexible schedule, which allows me to travel more and learn in exciting ways."  --Nikki, 16

"...I can learn at my own pace, according to my own personal interests.  My studies are focused on God."  --Allycia, 18

"...I don't have to deal with bullies and I get to spend more time with my family."  --Saxon, 8

"...I get to spend time with my family while doing school."  --Jimmy, 10

"...when people hear that I was homeschooled, they always think that it would have been so nice to sleep in and eat whenever I wanted.  But, really, it wasn't like that.  I'm glad I was homeschooled because I had the opportunity to spend my time with, and be influenced by, people who share my belief in Jesus."  --Zack, 18

"...my schedule is more flexible; it means she loves me and cares about me; I can spend more time with my family and friends; and I can help out at my church if I want to/need to."  --Elisabeth, 16

"...I can play with my brothers all the time."  --Declan, 5

"...it allows me the freedom of free thinking.  I also have the privilege of receiving a higher education, both intellectually and spiritually."  --Emma, 17

"...I get to spend more time with God and my family."  --Cody, 16

Th_ththanksgivingsnoopyblessings "...I can learn truly important things at a pace that suits me best; I now have close relationships with my parents, my family, and my God; my mom makes me read A LOT!; I am kept from harmful aspects of public/private school; I have more godly influences in my life and can focus more on important things such as God, family, friends, church, etc."  --Jenny Rose, 16

"...I have more free time and can involve God in my school.  They literally NEVER talked about God when I went to school.  Now that I'm homeschooled, I can learn more about the Lord and get to know Him better.  Also, because I get to spend time with my mom."  --Sam, 15

"...we don't have to deal with negative influences.  Mommy makes things fun."  --Mae, 10

"...the Public School System is so messed up that I can't imagine how messed up I would be too.  And, because it helps me realize how much more work motherhood is than the pregnant teens at school realize!"  --Elizabeth, 17

"...I get to do crafts and I like drawing pictures and making letters for Nana."  --Karon, 3

"...I am able to be taught from a Biblical perspective."  --Alicia, 17

"...I am able to spend time with her.  Not only that, but, if I went to public school, I would be even more open to corruptness and lies.  Some of those lies would be evolution, having cool clothes, or needing a boyfriend.  Because I'm homeschooled, I'm able to follow God and not hear anyone bashing my Savior while I study!"  --Shine, 13

"...I am able to work with the extra time I have."  --Steve, 16

"...I learn a lot more than if I attended public school.  It is fun to be homeschooled because we get to be with our friends.  we go to Friday classes and we have classes with other families.  I love my mom for homeschooling me."  --Josh, 11

"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; His love endures forever."  (I Chronicles 16:34)

Do you notice a common theme running through them all...God, family, values?  See...children notice and appreciate...they just don't always say it.  So, on behalf of your children, thank you to each and every homeschool mom!  You are valuable!  You are doing an incredible job!  You are a success!  Whether they tell you or not, your children thank God for you!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, my dear friends!

Wonderful article about homeschooling! We homeschool ourselves and I also have a website and blog discussing home-based educational activities. See my reply to your post at Advantages of Homeschooling.
