SAHM Makes A Difference
After visiting many mommyblogs and websites the past month, I have been absolutely delighted to listen and see how SAHMs balance everything these days. In the 35+ years since my kids were small, some things have changed and some things have not. The better is much much better!
For instance, modern technology of the Internet, IPod, and all the software a SAHM has a much better chance of reaching out into a community of several countries. Oh how I would have loved that! Thirty-five years ago, being home meant that it was the women in the neighborhood who were your friends. (or not) Some but not all had a second car so they had wheels to go when hubby had the main vehicle. God forbid you wanted to home school your children because you didn't like the way public school was set up. I remember parents being arrested for trying to home school.
I now watch with such love at the young moms who balance careers at home, homeschooling, and their adorable youngsters. Sharing the same questions about child care and the different stages of development. The one thing I am especially grateful to see is how the community of SAHM's has grown, and the international friendships that have developed. You have also found ways to fellowship in Twitter, Social Medias, and other opportunities.
Reading blogs about how you support each other through tough times and great challenges--that's what ministry is all about--bringing some comfort and encouragement to others. SAHM you are definitely victorious in your values and in your walk. SAHM really make a difference and demonstrate caring for for the next generation that ministry is a lifestyle.
If you are considering being or are currently a SAHM ,lots of resources on the Internet, and in our groups at Christian Women Take Root. Lots of resources and ideas to help you plan, stay connected, and be encouraged.
