Listening to God's Voice - Part II
What does it take to hear God’s Voice?
It takes building Christian ethics in your life, and sticking to it. God uses our life experience to start placing in us principles as habits that make us who we are. Practicing being proactive in developing a positive prayer life teaches us the importance of prayer as we talk with God. Creating spiritual habits that daily strengthen, sustain, and build us throughout our life enables us to hear God’s voice.
Pondering: Have you learned to wait upon, and trust the Lord? Have you learned to sit quietly and listen for His love song? Do you have any character traits that prevent you from maturing in Christ? Have you ever experienced God rest, or a peace that words cannot begin to communicate? How can God talk to us if we do not listen to the letters He wrote with the instructions on how to come into His presence, and hear His voice?
Coaching Concept: It takes courage to change. It takes time to realize negative characteristics inside our duel nature. Life is a journey of difficulties, rough roads, disappointments, sometimes sorrow, and many, many tears. Our time on earth is simply a time called waiting. What we do with our time is what matters. Life is going to happen anyway, right? We might as well allow the power of God to help us through life with the peace and joy that He promised. Step up this week, no matter what the circumstance of life, with your face to the wind knowing that God has your backs.
Challenge: To hear the voice of God, one must surrender the things of the flesh that impede the work of the Holy Spirit. Only you know what those things are. Only you can set yourself on this journey. He is waiting for you to hear what He has to say. Will you listen to the voice of God?
This verse is talking about spiritual military hardware, artillery suited for the heir of God. He endows us with power tools to sustain us through life-experiences that help established our relationship with God. This ancient, spiritual power equips, and teaches us the tearing down of fortresses or strongholds. We have battle gear for the warfare of life, weaponry against those character traits within us that are destructive, and displeasing to God. We also become equipped for the arrows that take to the air aimed at us from those waiting to control, or disarm us. Take the time to read Eph. 6; it will give you a good overall view of our armor against strongholds, and spiritual attacks.
Until we cleanup the character traits that prevent us from a relationship with God, we are falling down an endless, and deep well of self-destruction.
granted some are simple and some are immense experiences however, our reaction determines the outcome. See, simple science (maturity = experience + reaction to determine outcome). (O = e + r)
Think about it, and pray that God will reveal anything in you that needs to change. We will talk about resting in God next week in Part III. Write me a note if you need me, I am here to stay. I am not going anywhere until I hear God calling.
Until next week, God bless.
