Some Old-Fashioned Wrinkle Cures

Authentic Beauty Header
Anti-aging is probably one of the biggest buzz words in the history of mankind because, for some reason, if somebody calls it "anti-aging," regardless of what it is, people will slather it all over their face.
The most recent "anti-aging" concoction that I have found is in a book called "Miracle Food Cures From the Bible" by Reese Dubin.

Mudmask-1 You may have heard of it and I have no clue if anything in the book really works, but I've been experimenting since I got the book a couple months ago. The first secret to wrinkle-free skin listed in the book stems from the use of olive juice by women in Greece. According to Dubin, they rub the juice of green olives, which is an astringent, on the skin of the face, throat, hands, wrists, and forearms in quick circular motions.

The juice can be obtained from fresh or pickled olives by removing the pits and running them through a juicer and adding water if it becomes too thick. Just store it in the fridge and rub it on in the mornings. Dubin also recommends a daily intake of olive oil to keep skin soft and resilient.
I thought I'd try it and see what happens. What's the worst that can happen? Call me in about twenty years to see if it kept the wrinkles at bay.

Dubin also includes a "do-it-yourself face lift" in his book. It includes a recipe he says originated from Ninon de L'Enclos. She was a French beauty who lived during the time of Louis XIV. Her face is said to have been completely free of wrinkles even at age 90. Supposedly, her secret was an ointment containing four ounces of almond oil, three ounces of lard (olive oil or any vegetable shortening), and one ounce of spermaceti (chopped or shaved candlewax). She added onion juice by squeezing the juice out of an onion and stirred the mixture over heat until melted, making sure to add a teaspoonful of rosewater.
Apply this once at bedtime and remove it, in the morning with cotton balls soaked with rubbing alcohol.
I don't know how rested I'll feel with onion juice on my face the entire night, but I'm willing to try it. It is said to be the only successful method for removing wrinkles aside from plastic surgery.
For more miracle cures, you can find Dubin's book on Amazon.com.
