I'm Going to Praise Him
Greetings to you all! I pray that you are having a blessed week. I'm looking forward to our first holiday season together. Christmas is approaching us quickly and I want to encourage you to allow the joy of the Lord to lead you through to the coming New Year.
Giving praise to our Lord is a vital part of living the Christian life. I love the way David praised the Lord. He was not ashamed nor was he afraid to express his love for God through song and dance. An important part of my daily living is giving praise to God.
Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise Him! The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:1-3 NIV)
Seeking Jesus Each Day
There are many ways we can see God throughout the day. But the only way you will see Him is if you seek Him. Each morning when I am blessed with another day, I thank the Lord. When I have no words to form, I just say, "Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus." Ladies, if you look for God each day you will find Him.
Glory in Him name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced. (1 Chron. 16:10-12 NIV)
Count Your Blessings
How many times have we heard the phrase, "Count your blessings?" I can't remember when I first heard it but it seems that it's something I have heard all my life. Have you ever sat down and written a list of your blessings? You will be surprised how it will always weigh out your troubles. Every now and then take some time to write out your blessings. Not only in your mind but actually write it out. Your journal would be a good place to make your blessings list. When we think about what God has blessed us with, we can see His love for us. Even in the small things. It's in the little things that we can see how great a God we serve. Wanting to please God and being married to someone who has no desire to even know God can be hard and it breaks my heart. I know what my husband is missing out on. It's like watching someone standing on the train tracks with their back facing away from the oncoming train. In my heart I'm screaming, "Look out! There's a train coming and if you don't move you will die!" But let me just tell you this - Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted! No matter what is making us feel pain or sadness, Jesus will bring you joy in the midst of trying times.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. (Luke 4:18 NKJ)
Jesus Loves You
Jesus loves you. That's a fact. Fall in love with Jesus. He will never let you down. He will never lie to you. Get to know Him. Let Him show you the greatness of His simplicity.
Christmas Time
Christmas time is a time of year to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. But for some its a time to exchange gifts. My prayer is that my husband accept the gift of salvation. During this holiday season I choose not to let the stress of the world get me down. I choose to sing praises and offer up my gift of thanksgiving to God. God has given me a beautiful family. Sometimes I take that for granted.
Father I just want to thank you for my husband. I want to thank you for these ladies who look to you for guidance and strength. Fill our hearts with your love, peace and joy. Fill our homes with your presence, Lord, and cause a hunger for You in the hearts of our husbands. With thanksgiving and praise, Amen.
Until we meet again, enjoy this holiday season and each day leading to the birthday of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
