Exchange Stress for Simplicity

Letters From the King

Dear Child,

Christmas Season brings additional emotional and financial stress to your life. This should not be so. Recall with Me the Christmas Story in the Bible. Let us look at the shepherds who lived out in the fields keeping watch over their flock by night. The shepherds were abiding over the sheep, much like I ask you to abide with Me.

They were being faithful to the work they had at hand. It wasn't a highly sought after job, but still they were watching to make sure the sheep were safe to give birth to their baby lambs. These shepherds were not looking for a better place in life, seeking the pleasures they wanted to do. They were focused not where they wanted to be, but instead they were being faithful with where they were.

Everything you will always need is already in you as you abide in Christ Jesus Who indwells within you. You can stop looking for something outside to satisfy you within. Be faithful to the responsibilities I have given you. Don't stress trying to manipulate life to produce what you want or what you think you need. I will show up in a powerful way when you simply are faithful with what I have already given you. You  will never be able to produce for yourself anything greater in life than what I want in your life.

Be faithful in the present moment. Everyone has a sinful past, but everyone is welcome to choose to be in My presence. Let's think back to the Shepherds. Amazingly, an Angel stood before them saying, "Do not be afraid, behold, good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:10-11 NKJV). As soon as the shepherd's heard this message they immediately left, with haste, to go see.

I tell you to "be still" which actually means "let it drop from your hands". I am the same yesterday, today and forever. Let go of whatever you are holding onto so tightly, so that you can "be still" and take the time to "know that I am God." You can't be still, and come into My presence, to seek Me and be found, until you let go of things in your life.

During the Christmas Season, it is easy to focus on material stuff, and things that your culture or religion stresses as being most important. But I tell you to throw off everything that hinders and entangles you, so that you will have time with Me. Be ready, declutter your life, lighten your schedule! When I call you, be ready to come immediately and see what I have to meet the deepest needs of your soul. Simplify, be faithful with the few. Be still, let go. And prioritize your life to what I hold most dear, My relationship to you, My child.
