Reflections
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
It's been quite a year and I am looking forward to entering the New Year with Jesus in my heart. When I look back on this year it's bittersweet. God has taken me on a journey that has brought growth into my spiritual life. When I first introduced myself to you I was married to an unbeliever. And as we come to the close of another year, I still am married to an un-believer. Have I come to a place where it gets easier? No. Not really.
When I look back on this year, I can see how God has changed my heart. Has he changed my husband's heart? I honestly don't know. I know God is doing something - but that's really between God and my husband. I learned that when I put too much focus on what God is doing with my husband it opens a huge door for disappointment when things don't go the way I think God should make them go. So today I want to reflect on previous articles written earlier this year. Will you come with me down the Married to an Un-Believer's memory lane? Let's go.
REFLECTIONS
Seek Ye First The Kingdom of God
This article is dear to my heart because seeking God is where it all begins. When we have a heavy heart or a heart filled with joy, seeking the Lord for any and all things is the wisest way to begin. Jesus is the only way. Remember to include God in all your plans. Ask Him what He wants to do in your life, in your days and in your heart. If you are having trouble relating to your husband, only God can give you guidance. I can't stress it enough to you to simply seek His will and put on the whole armor of God each morning.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God ... Ephesians 6:10-13 NIV
They That Wait Upon the Lord
Waiting on the Lord can be hard at times especially when we know what we are waiting for - the salvation of our husbands. That moment we hear other wives talk about when they tell us how life was before their husbands came to know Jesus. Those testimonies are both encouraging and sad at the same time. We begin to wonder when we will be able to tell that story. We don't know. Remember, ladies, that to wait upon the Lord is what we need to do. Ask God to bless you with patients. It's one of the fruits of the Spirit. It a wonderful gift from God.
But if we hope for what we do not have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:25 NIV
The Lord is my Shepherd (Psalms 23 NIV)
There comes a time as we are waiting for our husbands to turn their lives over to Christ when we just want to give up. Praying for his seems like the furthest thing from our hearts to do. We need someone to step in for us - we need Jesus to just bring that peace the surpasses all understanding. It's not easy being married to an un-believing husband. Don't give up! Keep praying for your husband.
Be Angry and Sin Not
Anger is one of the battles we fight. We are reminded in this article that God brings peace to a troubled heart. We don't have to let anger rule over us but through Jesus we can control anger when it slips through the cracks of these broken vessels. Don't feel guilty when you feel angry - daily give your heart to God and ask Him to create in you a clean heart each day.
Be angry and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger. Ephesians 4:26 NAS
Change of Guard
Are you ready to hand over the reigns of being the spiritual head of the family to your husband when he hands over his heart to Christ? When that time comes, I want my husband to know that he is welcome to take over. I look forward to that wonderful day. I don't know when it will happen but all I need to know is that God is in control and that is worth the wait.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV
Until we meet again, may the joy of the Lord be your strength. Have a wonderful Christmas and may the peace of our Lord and Savior lead you into a blessed New Year!

Awesome words - appreciated by a kindred spirit. Sometimes I feel like I'm fighting the battle of being married to an unbeliever all on my own. Thank you for your encouraging words :)
