A Verse I Seem to Come Back to A Lot...
"Build houses and live in them. Plant gardens and eat their produce. For I know the plans I have for you" --this is the Lord's declaration--"plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:5, 11-13
One of My Favorite Quotes...
"God Almighty first planted a garden; and, indeed, it is the purest of human pleasures." ~Sir Francis Bacon (English lawyer and philosopher, 1561-1626)
I Love...
Chocolate, coffee, writing, reading, sudden inspiration, spur of the moment get-a-ways, natural medicines from the garden, drives with my husband, laughing with my kids, being amazed by my grandson, chickens, fresh eggs, baking, quiet walks in the woods
Not much love for...
...dogs that bark in the night, dietary restrictions--especially caffeine and chocolate, prescription medicine, store-bought vegetable, arrogance, arguing, interruptions when I'm on a roll writing, telephone calls
Bio:
Patricia is a daughter of the King, and was introduced to the Bible and God early in life. She met Jesus at the altar when she was 12. She has spent a lifetime of discovery walking down the path God has laid out for her. She tries to use the gift of writing He has given as often as possible.
Currently a stay-at-home mom, she has worked in a variety of interesting careers including dental assisting, cosmetic sales, and office management. Her particular favorite job was with The Salvation Army Olympic Ministry in preparation for and during the 2002 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. During that time her job description morphed from office manager to communications specialist to volunteer coordinator. As volunteer coordinator she assisted in recruiting, scheduling, and training over 1500 volunteers who ran an Internet cafe, street ministries, water aid stations at all the venues, as well as coffee and hot chocolate stops for the many parking lot attendants at all the events (with the days starting in the pre-4 a.m. cold of the Utah winter---brrr!).
She is an avid gardener and a student of organic gardening in particular. She received her Master Gardener's certificate in 2004 in Wayne County, WV through the West Virginia University Extension Service. Her father's career in the USMC and her husband's career in the USAF took her all over the country and to Okinawa, Japan. This has exposed her to some of the gardening pleasures and problems from Boston to South Florida, North Carolina to Utah, and Texas to West Virginia.
Patricia is the wife of 27 years to her sweetheart, mother of 3 amazing young adults (2 daughters - 24 & 22 years old; 1 son - 19 years old), and Nana to a beautiful 3 year-old boy.
Her husband adores her, her children think she is an eccentric - but lovable mom, her grandson smothers her in hugs daily, and the rest of the family considers her that bohemian/hippy/computer nerd/slightly odd person every family has---and she swears she wouldn't trade one bit of her life for anything short of Heaven!
